The family sharing Egyptian culture, one meal at a time — welcoming travellers into our home for over five years.
We are Ahmed and Mai — a couple who share a deep passion for welcoming people into our home and creating genuine human connections through the language of food. Together, we enjoy hosting guests in a warm, family-oriented setting where food, conversation, and authentic Egyptian hospitality come together.
What began as sharing home-cooked meals with travellers has grown into a heartfelt mission: to give visitors a true window into Egyptian family life — the aromas of our kitchen, the stories around our table, the warmth that no hotel or restaurant can replicate.
Over the years we have opened our home to visitors from different backgrounds, offering them an authentic, home-cooked taste of Egypt and the chance to experience daily life as locals do. We host in English, German, and Arabic — Ahmed's day job is in geophysics, but his real joy is connecting people through food.
Every booking is hosted personally by Ahmed (or Mai for the cooking class) — no third-party guides, no scripts.
Fluent English, German, and Arabic — pick the language you'll feel most at home in.
For the cooking class, you're welcomed into our actual family kitchen — kids, stories, and all.
